Product For Hair generously pays $1000 towards course fees at the VHA for successful applicants.
ALINA FRIESEN SCHOLARSHIP
Number of Awards: maximum 2 per year
Alina Friesen immigrated to Canada from Iraq at the age of 7 and began her apprenticeship with Michael Levine Salons in 2004 at the age of 16. By the age of 25, she was a 3 time winner at the Canadian Hairdresser of the Year awards and a 4 time finalist at the North American Hairdresser of the Year Awards. Alina spent her entire career in Vancouver with Michael Levine Salons and is now living in New York and working as an editorial stylist.
Michael Levine Salons offers the Alina Friesen Scholarship as a tribute to how hard work, dedication and loyalty translates into success.
How To Apply
Applying for one of our two available scholarships is easy.
Firstly, fill in the application form below and include a minimum 500 word essay introducing yourself and answering the following questions:
Why do you want to become a hairstylist?
Why you are a good candidate for the Vancouver Hairdressing Academy?
Where you would like your career to be in the next 3 years and in 10 years?
Why you should win one of the 8 possible scholarships per year?
Secondly, you will create a maximum 1 minute video summarizing the key points in your essay and share it on your social media, but make sure to post it on Instagram and tag @vancouverhairacademy and hashtag #VHAscholarship so that we can find your video.
Be as creative as you'd like. Our goal is to provide these opportunities to people who are willing to put themselves out there fearlessly. Success in hairdressing is equal parts quality of work, work ethic and personality. We want the winners of these scholarships to be able to use this opportunity to achieve success quickly, so we need to see who you are.
Successful applicants must be willing to attend either campus locations and will be able to start their program within 60 days of being selected.
The Vancouver Hairdressing Academy reserves may rescind a scholarship offer at any time for any reason (without disclosure of that reason) until 1 week before the program starts.
All regular course rules apply and scholarship winners will be held to the same rules as all students.
Scholarships cannot be combines with any other tuition discounts and are based on a regular, full tuition contract.
